Wrinkle Relaxer Treatment
This quick office treatment will help reduce the appearance of existing wrinkles and helps prevent the formation of new ones. As the muscles in our face contract, creases form which turn into wrinkles. Injecting neuromodulators into the facial muscles helps reduce the activity of these muscles, allowing the skin to remain smooth. Patients will see their results within 14 days. Botox vs. Dysport
Botox and Dysport are both injectable neurotoxins that help prevent the appearance of aging and formation of wrinkles. The difference in these two products is patient preference. In general, we see that most wrinkle relaxers last around 3-4 months. For some patients, Dysport can give a stiffer longer lasting result, but everyone’s muscles and cells renew at different rates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get Botox/Dysport while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Botox is considered by the FDA to be a Category C drug during pregnancy, meaning there have not been sufficient or dedicated studies proving the drug to be safe or unsafe during pregnancy. While Botox is not proven to be harmful to the fetus during pregnancy, it is important for patients to understand that it has not been proven to be 100% safe either. For this reason, the majority of patients and providers agree to defer Botox injections until the patient has delivered their baby and finished breastfeeding.
How many units will I need for a treatment?
The number of units used will vary based on patient concerns/goals and the provider’s assessment of the treatment area(s).
How long will it take for me to notice full results?
Some patients may begin to notice the effects as early as 2-3 days post treatment, while most patients will see results within 10 to 14 days but should wait the full 14 days to see the maximum results.
How long will these results last?
In general, Botox lasts 3-4 months. There will be patients in which it lasts longer, in that 4-6 month range, or shorter, in that 2-month range. It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment.
What will I look like immediately following the treatment?/Is there downtime involved when being treated with Botox?
You may have minor side effects after Botox, including headaches, neck pain, or flu-like symptoms. You may have some minor redness, swelling, or bruising at an injection site– like a mosquito bite. These minor results should subside within an hour after your appointment.
